Jason just do it, it will change your life. The cost is going to spread over a period of time so assuming you can save a few bucks you will be able to do this and the reward is out of this world. All my lumber came from Home depot or Lowes with the exeption of the cherry, maple, mahogany, blood wood...

Hi Jim I used Epifanes marine, in Seabrook Texas it was a little stickey but I varnished in June very hot I should have thinned the varnish as much as possible and as recomended by Epifanes, as the temperature is a little less than it was then you should not need to thin as much. Epifanes marine gav...

I used RAKA and had no problems, after research I found the RAKA resins to be the best for me, no amine blush and good clarity. I used West system on my sail boat for a barrier coat and other projects the amine blush is a problem if you do not re coat right away or at least it was on the sail boat p...

I did not pre-coat and had no real big issues, I did use and would recomend anyone to try a bubble roller to wet the cloth out and remove bubbles. This is a link to West Marine site that shows the rollers, good luck http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/10001/-1/10001/72269/100...
