I've been away from the forum for quite awhile, haven't I? :embarassed I don't recall if I ended up with more than two knots in any one hole, but I know I never had a problem pulling the knots tight enough. I don't know what sort of knot you are using, but all that is really needed is a simple "...

You may need to get a little creative in some places. On our redbird, we found that in a few places we needed to do some very crazy clamping setups involving long pieces of tape, clamps, wedges, bungie cords, pieces of rope, winches, egg plants, dachsunds, etc. I think its kinda fun finding new and ...

Who wants to cane my seat for me?
Ok. Caning seats has to be the most boring and tedious job ever. I spent all day in the sun am about 3/4ths of the way done with one, and sunburnt. If you spend too much time caning, eventually, your eyes get to the point where they feel like they are going to pop out of your head. :shocked does any...

on our redbird, we just used sand paper wrapped around the hand to sand, but that wouldnt work for the inside edge of the stem. for this, i found that the peices of wood we had been using as spreaders to keep the hull at the proper width were the same thickness as the inside edge of the stem (about ...
is that bug juice stuff similar to jungle juice? Jungle juice is a 95% DEET thingy that really drives mosquitoes crazy. A certiant individual i know soaked his pants in the stuff before a trip to canada a few years ago to test it out and found it will also irritate the skin in, shall we say, certian...

I dont know about the 17 vs. 17-9, but i do know that stapleless is the way to go. My dad and i are in the process of building a redbird. We have it fiberglassed and the inwales are on. We stapled on the first board so it would be held in place very sturdily and be easier to adjust to make a nice fa...

Whooeeeee!!!!. W got the inner 'wales in and the seats made and glued this weekend. I hope somebody doesnt yell at us for being overproductive. I noticed that in the center where we left an unscuppered area for the yoke to attach to there is a flatish spot because that part didnt bend as well as the...
