hi dave, i just fixed the stem band with little brass-screws and thickened epoxy. if you want to have a look: http://groups.msn.com/Kanubau/shoebox.msnw?Page=3 it´s really difficult to find the place were i used the screws, and i think it´s gonna last forever ... found the exact how-to-information h...

I also thought about using the HH Perkins plastic cane stuff for my seats.

I also have the Gil Gilpatricks book "Building a Ceder Strip Canoe". Especialy the chapter about caning is worth the money! Very detailed description with lots of photos.

Thank you for the idea to import the files to AutoCad! Much easier and faster than measuring .... by hand. :-)
Have to ask somebody of our constructions departement to print it out.
