No sense to make holes to the planks. Just do a jig outside the hull to
keep planks steady against the molds.

thanks for the info guys. have you guys been out in the middle of the lake during a big wind? Depends how big is big. I am very satisfield with my Redbird and defenately it does NOT need keel. I think it is able to manage well in windy conditions with right position of load and yourself and and rig...

I just build Redbird
It took two months to build Redbird. I launch it at middsummer. I wonder if anyone first timer, no professional and not pursuit of record, has build a canoe it that short time ?
