We have had a redbird for the last 8 years. It is an excellent canoe for week long tripping through Killarney. It is fast , stable and actually works better when loaded with packs and food for two. It is a beautiful design as well.

My first stripper was a Peterborough. I put on a 3/4 by 3/4 inch full lenght keel to act as as a bit of protection when grounding the canoe on the rock beaches so common around here. I am not sorry I put it on. As to stability, I have had no problem with that canoe nor has anyone who has paddled it....

Hello

My first canoe was also a Peterborough and the second a Hiawatha. Perfectly fine for my wife to paddle around our fairly small Haliburton lake. You must however build a third boat :) My third was a Redbird for those Algonquin and Killarney trips.
