Hello,
I built a Ranger last year and it is made of pine (Pinus sylvestris). I found it quite easy to work with and like the end result.

I just finished my ranger and thought i might share some pictures of the canoe. The hull is made of pine, gunwales are birch, seats and yoke are oak. It still needs varnishing but I have a long winter ahead of me. It just has to be varnished by spring. I hope to get some detail pictures as well to p...

Thank you Bassbug. I will go with these measurements and adjust them when I have to.

Glen,

I understand the copywright problems and respect them. I will try to scale the seat locations from Canoecraft and see, what happens.

Anyway,

Thank you again

strips

Hi! I wanted to buy some some strip material for my ranger, but I have a little problem: seems, that it is almost impossible to find lumber, that is clear and knot free. Since the ranger is 15 feet long, I should have to butt-joint all the planks together. Question is that will the canoe be still st...

I'm about to build a 15 foot Ranger and i would like to know if anybody has built it and how good of a canoe it is. Also any pointers on building it would be most welcome.

Thanks,
