Storage outside : any suggestion ?
Hi, I've finished my Freedom 17 this summer. I have built the entire canoe outside with no problem, except the extra care needed when applying epoxy (bugs, etc). I have built outside because I don't have any place to do it inside ... and now it's time for winter storage ! Does anyone have any sugges...

Thanks for the answers. Here is some info on the intended use of the canoe I want to built : The canoe will be used for river purpose, sometime in swift water. Just for 1 day trip with 2 paddlers. I want to built woodsrtip canoe that would be use for river purpose. I was looking for a 15 footer and think that the Ranger would be a good choice. I was thinking of reinforcing the bottom for the usual rocks ...

Hello, I'm currently building my canoe outside. It was my only option too, so I take the step forward last month. So far so good. I am now planking the hull (about 1/2 done). It is a little bit time consumming each time with the protecting tarp, but it doesn't bother me too much until now. For what ...

Yes I also bought the WRC from Specibois. I also paid the extra $ to have it planed down to 7/8", so it's ready to be cut in strips. The wood looks very good ... knot free with beautiful grain. I am very please with it.Fredz wrote:Did you get the Red cedar from Specibois also?

Glen, I just bought my white cedar and WRC from Specibois this morning. Mr Cauchon showed me a photo of your Hiawatha (the same you use on this site I guess). I hope mine will look as good !
Next step : ripping and bead and cove. Any tips ?
