I sanded the backside of the stemband and glueid it with thickend epoxy, I additionally screwed it with small brass screws (2,5mm thick) . I dipped the screws in a little amount of sicaflex marine sealer for sealing the holes in the wood.

Best regards and good luck

Interessting that you have good results with the 1K Bootlak of epifanes. I´m using Epifanes DD Polyurethan 2-K Varnish, because my dealer (he is the general dealer for Epifanes Germany, the company is located very close to us in the netherlands) told me, that the tradtitional Bootlak won`t be adhere...

Ready for varnish!!!

Hy there - couldn`t believe it - my Freedom 17" looks like ready for varnishing. Fixed the hardware today (only have to wait for some long brass carriage bolts from Maine). The laminated deep thwart I build was so massive, that a elephant could sit on it, I made it a little to heavy I think - g...

While I´m waiting for my ordered my brass countersink bolds, I´m thinking about the "How to" installing the seats in the best manner. A boatbuilder from Bavaria told me, that he always countersunk the carriage bolts. He stzressed, that it is important to make a perfect right angle drill, e...
