The longest brass screw I could find in McMaster Carr in a 1/4" diameter was 3" https://www.mcmaster.com/92453a554
I used their stainless steel socket heads for mine, but I also did a hidden fastener system up into Helicoils so nothing showed.

Hey all, Finally finished my Freedom 17 after 2 1/2 years of work. Hull is red cedar sourced at Menards. Trim and other parts are a mix of Walnut, Ash, Maple, Sassafras, Poplar, and Turpentine wood. Im having a difficult time locating Cedar Lumber in Arkansas, anyone know of a source. I can't wait to get started. I live near St. Louis. If you have a Menards nearby, I was able to get cedar planking in various widths that was 13/16" thick and 10' or 12' long. By picking through their stacks...
