I would prepare the mortise and tenon joints but I would not glue the inwales and yoke together beforehand. It has happened to some builders to snap an inwale while bending to follow the sheerline. With everything glued together, you are up that proverbial creek. I have used this type of joint on on...

Hi Sylvain, my problem is emphysema and my lungs function at only 20%. This means that I can't do any kind of work or even go for a walk because I run out of breath very quickly. I can't even use the boats that I built. It is never going to get better, only worse.

That is correct. Just one note: the horizontal portion of the outer stem should be tapered from full width of 3/4" to only 3/8" where it feeds into the keel line. This taper will start approximately 10" from the keel end of the stem. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/glenkayak/Pi...
