Epoxy Seat Spacers to Inwale?
Hello Folks After a year and about 200 hours I have completed the woodworking on my Ranger build, my first canoe. Now I am waiting for some mild weather so I can bring it upstairs to the garage and sand the hull to get it ready for varnish. I was wondering if I should epoxy the seat spacers to the i...

Re: Epoxy filler too light
Thanks guys! I noticed the problem yesterday when I wetted out the hull after my first sanding. I had mixed some West System epoxy with the microlight fairing filler and some sawdust to fill in some cracks near the stem. This morning I went down and did a bit of scraping and was able to take it back...

Epoxy filler too light
I know, I know I read everything here about colouring the filler epoxy darker than the wood, but I guess I didn’t quite get it right. The problem is noticeable near the stems. My question is will the epoxy and cloth hide my error, or is there something else I can/should do to make it look somewhat b...

Re: Gluing Bow and Stern Short Strips
Thanks Stephen. I am using this technique for the longer strips and it is working well. My problem is with the short strips that I need to add to the bow and stern under (over?) the sheer strip that served as the first long strip for the canoe.eric

Gluing Bow and Stern Short Strips
Hello Forum
I am building a Ranger 15 without staples and the cove down. I am trying to figure out the best way to get the glue on these strips without making too much of a mess. My first attempts have been less than stellar. Any advice greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Eric

Re: Stem work guidance
Hi Corey
Not sure if you lofted the plans or purchased them, The Bear Mountain plans for my Ranger 15 stem show the rounded edge directly on the plan itself.
Good luck
Eric
