Brush strokes
Hi all. Just finished our first canoe build. My dad who is 84 and I started it back in February. What a great experience. Had a question about varnish. We used Total Boat satin and did four coats with a good quality brush and one coat of reduced wipe on. On all coats the brush and rag strokes were c...

Re: Station waves
Yes I meant lofted. I used the most current book and did get the correction for the stem mold. I made some minor height adjustments to some of the stems to correct the wave. Re: Station waves
Thanks guys. The wave is like this. If you sight down from stem to stem down the center line the wave is up and down from stem 2-1-0-1-2 if that makes sense. It’s about 1/8” deflection. Station waves

I know due to cutting out the templates I went off the line a couple of times but not that much. If I strip over t...

Re: Stem template and canoe length
Thanks guys. I have the eleventh printing. I think I said I was building a Prospector however I am building a Ranger. The file opened for me and the measurements work. In my book on page 51 the measurements don’t work. Thanks again.

Stem template and canoe length
Hi all. I am new to the forum and a newbie at boat building. I plan to build the prospector this spring. I have all the templates drawn but can’t figure out where the measurements are for the stem template. Are the measurements in the book ? Also is it possible to shorten the length of the Prospecto...
