Seems strange to have it show up in the 3rd and 4th coats...How are you heating your workspace? Any chance of constimination from a diesel stove of something?

I don't think things are going to fall apart without the keel. But the inner keel provdes structure and an attachment for the floorboards, and the outer keel is important for rowing (maybe not so much for a motor, I don't know...).

Thanks cff...I think you will find the Rice Lake pretty easy to strip. The shape doesn't really torture the strips like some canoes do. I was looking over my pics, and it looks like I went with 1.5 inch strips for the whole thing. except for some accent strips. That size strip looks appropriate for ...

My experience with 9 oz is that it is very hard to wet out even if you warm the epoxy. The test panel is a good idea...but a small panel might not give a a good "feel" for how difficult it is going to wet out. I do like MAS slow though...working alone, you have plenty of time to get things...

I would order some 60" - 6oz plain weave from Raka or other supplier...Raka Cloth... The Raka guys are pretty quick and the cloth comes rolled...Dave
