Thanks guys for the tips, I'm sure many builders will consider this method seeing that it is so simple. Would you put on a outer stem to protect the ends of the cedar strips?

I know, just buy the book and check it out.

I know that this is not the place for technical questions, but how would you build this boat with out stems? I'm just cutting out the material for the stems, and the stem molds. I would love to skip steaming the stems, bending the wood, and then gluing the assembly up if I don't have to. Thanks for ...

Thank you Steve, and Bear Mountain Boat Shop for the plans. They are excellent, and the detail is far above what you would expect. This is the fourth canoe that I wil be building using Bear Mountain's plans. Construction should begin at the end of the month for the Freedom 15'3" solo. It would ...
