For a strip canoe I am looking at ways to reduce weight. Local materials dictate that my hull will be made from Cypress. Which is slightly heavier and stronger than Cedar? As far as the fiberglass carrying all the load that is not entirely true. The composite construction of a board sandwiched between to fiberglass layers is very similar that that of an I-Beam. What Jobs Absolutely Require Two People?
You could say no job ABSOLUTELY requires two people. Which is fine. But what functions during the process of building a canoe really go much better with two people? The streaks in the glassing and epoxy mix timing made me think that maybe glassing is a two man operation.

O/A length For a Redbird Stongback
How long should the strong back be for a Rebird? It appears to be greater than 16' thus throwing out using just two 4x8 sheets of plywood.
