Re: 19' 9" Chaa Creek Expedition

I am trying to figure out how much glass to buy. How wide? I was thinking 60" wide but would 50" work for this fairly sleek boat? How long for one layer for a 19' 9" boat? I was thinking 7 yards.

Re: 19' 9" Chaa Creek Expedition

Well, it is really the first of it's kind in the country... many different studios (welding, jewelry, fibers, wood, commercial kitchen, glass, etc) under one roof... and it's just a couple miles from our home.

Added a walnut strip to the bow and glued it up (like I did on the stern earlier) and replaced the middle support with a wider stance so it can be rolled easier without distorting the strongback and molds.

Re: 19' 9" Chaa Creek Expedition

Steamed the bow and stern outer stems… this time the wood was so hot and wet, even the maple and walnut strips bent very easily with very little pressure.

Re: 19' 9" Chaa Creek Expedition

As some can probably observe, I forgot to steam and bend the outer stems so I will have to do that next over the inner stems.
