Mike How did you apply the resin? Did you use a brush, squeege, or a roller? Excess resin on the inside will flow towards the bottom before it sets, thus floating the cloth, as you described. Notice that this doesn't happen on the outside, you work the excess resin towards the shear. On the inside, ...

The tumblehomed canoes I've built were not as extreme as your Freedom 15. Would you accomplish the sharp turns by using narrower strips, say 1/2 to 5/8in? I would imagine that starting at the tumblehome's sharpest edge with the first strip, and work towards the shear would work. After that, return t...

Hi Steve I've been wishing I had a set of plans similar to the Bell Magic, designed by David Yost! Recently, I built a replacement seat for a Magic, and this gave me the opportunity to paddle and look at the hull. I'm impressed by it's speed and handling! If your design can compare to this hull? I'M...

Hi Ed How many bias strips are you going to but on? I usually put on two or more. Start with the widest one first. Usually I put the hull cloth on with the first wet out coat, and allow it to cure to the point that the cloth will not easily move. Then trim excess cloth with a razor blade. Feather th...

I'm with Bryan! I use an old Makita 13amp. skill saw with a an 18in length of aluminum angle clamped to the shoe of the saw. It works great! I've been away from this sight for a long time and now that I'm back, it's good to see many of the same people posting as before! That says something good abou...
