I really like the accent strip, which shows only partly at the tips.

I'm sure you 're going to paddle it for a while and will decide to build another cedar-strip canoe or kayak.

I used a PU-varnish clear coat (with UV-filter) on my first stripper as well. Only I applied it with a brush, back in november 2003. I used a sabot in the tips of my 38 Special canoe, and now -on the Winisk- I 've installed an inner stem. I was wondering how I will now the exact location where to cut off the ends of the strips, exactly there where I should install the outer stem ?
