Randy,
Lots of work - stay focused!!
You mention installing ribs. I also see that you glassed the inside. Are you going with the same rib configuration or a modified one, given that you have glassed the inside?

Re: Gunnels/ gunwales Advice
I have limited experience with canoe gunwales (only one canoe build)... I coated the inside of my scuppers and the surface that mates to the hull. This was partially because I was not 100% sure how I wanted to make my decks and thought that I would be doing some reshaping (which I did). If you are s...

Re: Water based varnish
I was hoping to hear more people with experience in the water based products. I have always been sceptical, but encouraged by Rick's experience the System Three WR-LPU. I checked with Systems Three and they tell me the closest dealer to Ottawa is Calgary (can also buy it online). I find it strange t...

Re: Hiking seats for Sailing Canoe
Opie8man, I don't really have comments on your hiking seats, but I am curious as to your sailing canoe design. Any details? I had designed a sailing rig for my canoe but it got burried in numerous other life activities and projects. I have yet to build the rig. Maybe soon. If you are looking for ano...

I will measure my kayak soon. Today we hit 23C and it looks like the river might break up soon.
Enjoy the skiing - my last ski was this week and with the warm weather and rain this week, the base is nearly gone
