Re: CNC router drawings of Prospector ranger 15 Molds.

Morten I was further perusing the Bear Mountain site and I found this on the FAQ page Are your plans available as a digital download? For those wishing to use a CNC router, we can provide .dxf format digital plans. The charge is $210 for the files, plus an additional $40 royalty for each set cut aft...

Re: CNC router drawings of Prospector ranger 15 Molds.

Hi Morten Welcome. This is probably the video you meant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc9S6ybstHw Google found me this, which I assume are more detailed videos of the same project. It's for members only and I didn't feel like joining just to check. It may have the answers for you. https://www.them...

Re: Redbird 17' Sanity Check

Hello Chris Does Chart B in your book have sheer values listed? My 1983 copy of Canoecraft doesn't have sheer values in Chart B either. The book only ever had sheer values in Chart A. Sorry if my question in the previous post misled you. I'm unaware of any online information with respect to the 1983...

Re: First timer

Simon Someone once posted a method something like you're describing. Interestingly it was five years after he posted it before someone else admitted to trying it. http://buildersforum.bearmountainboats.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2606 Unfortunately his photo album is now a dead link but I managed to...

Re: Resolute Build

Greg I've been rooting around in the forum and found a couple of references to offset errors for the Resolute dating back to 2006 and 2008. http://buildersforum.bearmountainboats.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2835 and http://buildersforum.bearmountainboats.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2341 Glen Smith p...

Re: Resolute Build

Greg I'm afraid I don't have a copy of Kayakcraft , but this is the way that things are laid out in Canoecraft . The baseline is above the vessel, and the waterlines increase in value as you go towards the keel. The waterline values do not actually indicate the draft of the boat at that point. I don...

Re: Resolute Build

Greg I'm not sure if you knew there was a companion video series for Kayakcraft . It's not clear which model they're building but you might pick up some ideas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsQLdGtEKB4&list=PLU4oSXwGGGSJSCKMYb1oZXqZF5uH1ybUd&index=1 Some of the videos for Canoecraft may al...

Re: Resolute Build

Welcome to the forum The only corrections I am aware of are for 5 canoes in Canoecraft, mostly related to the stems. https://www.bearmountainboats.ca/pages/faq They are about halfway down on the FAQ page. I would think if there were corrections in Kayakcraft they would be listed here as well. The wo...

Re: Notches in all the station molds at the baseline?

I see the notch you mean on the baseline near the centerline on the half plan. When you flop the plan over you end up with two notches. They're not labelled, and I can't think of a reason for them offhand, unless they're finger holes to help adjust the mold. I watched Nick Offerman's video on making...

Re: Hull Repair

can I simply drill a small hole inject warm epoxy into this area to get the fiberglass cloth to disappear This method is described in Canoecraft to repair damage from a violent blow to the hull which does not break the sheath, which I gather is true for the inside of your canoe only. Drill into the...

Wayne I got one of your photos to display in my web browser by omitting the [img] tags altogether. This one was only available to me because you misplaced a square bracket in one of the URL's. You could try posting all three photos without the [img] tags. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMpUN8z...

Re: Hull Repair

If you have the Canoecraft book, look for the chapter Classic Care: a Guide to Maintenance and Repair. This covers everything from scratches in the varnish to removal and replacement of damaged planking. It's near the end of the book. Bear Mountain also has these on their website hidden away under N...
