Re: Different styles of filling in the football
I'm doing no. 1 with a center seam. this actually is the easiest part of the build so far. the first half of the football that is. I'm not sure how much damage will be don to the other half when I start fitting the pieces in. the edges of the cove are pretty weak. I need to find out how to post pict...

Different styles of filling in the football
My " RANGER " is coming along very nicely. Im getting ready to put on my 11th strip in the football and i remembered i saw one or two posts that had some pictures of different styles of filling it in. there were several designs that caught my eye, but I cant recall where they were. Does an...

Re: Titebond 3
I have been using T3 for my whole project and i am sold. I will never use yellow again. This stuff is strong and it definately has a longer working time. a friend used it to water proof his RC boat and the results were very positive. He brushed it on the entire hull and used about a half gallon on i...

Re: Bulging between Stations
I know exactly what your saying Rod but I am clamping on the fore and aft edges of the station. I believe I found the problem. My wet glue rag while cleaning the glue off the stripping I wet it out too much making it swell. The bulging is disappearing as it drys. I'm in southern California so the dr...

Bulging between Stations
Im building a "Ranger" and having a great experience. Right now I am going around the ballasts with my 41st and 42nd strip. I am going without staples and found a doable system that suites me. I am very pleased so far. I glued pine blocks at each station and tied them back to my sheer bloc...

extending the inner stem?
Has anyone thought about extending the inner stem to the next station inboard. Im building the Ranger and im getting ready to bend the stems. I guess Im more keelminded than not and this would strengthen the strip ends until the football. Would I be over building or over thinking this. Is the fg clo...

Ranger Station 5
Station 5 has according to the lofting tables a 5/8s inch flat bottom at the profile 2-00-0 and the half breadths at the 24 in mark 0-00-2+. This is confusing. It should be to a point, correct ? This is a very calming process I am enjoying immensely .

Re: lofting tables
I have come across a discrepancy on station 5 on the ranger lofting tables where it says on the 24 inch half breadths , which is the bottom of station 5 it measures 5/16 and that would make the bottom flat. Is that a correct measurement? I am really enjoying this process. Hope you can help me.

Southern California
I have only been on this site for no more than 10 or 12 days and I am inspired. I live approximately half way between los Angeles and San Diego in a little town called 'Menifee' . I'm looking for suppliers and maybe a builder in my neighborhood. It might be a tall order but I thought I should give i...

How about poplar. It seems to have all the characteristics accept weight.

Re: Station Positioning
Thank you. another problem is how does the stem fair into station 6. 5/8 or 3/4 of an inch below profile line. The table for the stem has been corrected but still leaves alot to imagination particularly past the 22" mark back to station 6

lofting tables
I started lofting my " Ranger " . Had a few discrepancies. There was a few points that were a little off so I stayed with the WLs mostly. And then I started the stem and stern table and it has some miss prints. Is there a correction page I can go to. Hope so,
