I'm building a Redbird also and I am definately going to put bulkheads in. I'm adding a sail rig to mine and I wouldn't consider not adding some sort of flotation.

Hi Gordon,
I just finished building my accent strips using basswood and redwood. Pine might be a little darker than basswood, but I think you would still get a nice contrast with redwood.
When I get a chance, I'll take some pictures so you can get a better idea.

Gorilla Glue

Hey Folks, My neighbor just gave me some Gorilla Glue to try out. I was thinking about using it on my new sets of all ash stems, but.... I just built a new workbench and used it in the project. It sure foams up after it is clamped in place and is quite messy. These new stems are all ash, inners too...
