:confused I must have missed this step I did not epoxy the outwhals or in whales but installed my plugs and varnished the whole thing, hope it lasts.

Jim I used the wet sanding method by hand on my boat with 120 grit just knocking off the gloss after five coats of varnish she looks great I would not use dry sanding and would not use a power sander after the gross sanding on the bare wood. Well its been a long road for me at least but my Preospector Ranger is ready to be splashed.
