How does the density compare to cedar?
Is it a pretty wood?
-I know it is a whitish wood, but does it not have black streaks in it.

As a side issue, I do not believe a boat identifiction number is required in Canada.

For (private) insurance , is a boat identifiction number required?
(I would think it is a good idea)

kayak / portage / yoke

How do "you" portage your kayak?

Looking for ideas on (kayak) carts?
Any particular one recommended?
Anyone ever make a yoke for one?

I (tung) oiled mine.
There is a sag of about 3/4" and it is so comfortable.
Natural cane is very comfortable to sit on.
It does not sweat, even after hours of July - August paddling.

Cool idea, Looks great.
How nerve racking was it to cut out a "swoop" pattern?
What kind of saw gave you that detail?
Was the boat very stable after the cut? (prior to the inserts)

cruising speed

I have seen and heard several builder refer to "cruising speed" of hulls.
What is cruising speed a measurement of?
What are the variables and calculations?
(not all paddlers are created equal)
