Re: chestnut prospector help!!!
Have you used a common waterline for all of the stations?
I don't know how you did the lofting but I find it best to draw all the stations on the same sheet.
Perhaps you can post a photo of what you have done so far.

Re: Epoxy cloudy after the second coat
Yes, try washing it with a rag and warm water then wipe dry with paper towels. If it is still cloudy, go over it with a hot-air gun or a hair dryer. Get the epoxy warm to the touch and go over the entire hull. When finished, walk away and verify it after 24 hours.

Re: spraying water based polyurethane
Yes, the finish I used is a 1 component product. I applied it by wiping on with a cloth covered sponge pad. I applied 10 or 12 coats. It has held up well and one of my daughters rubbed the canoe against a nail head sticking out of a wooden dock and there isn't even a scratch!

Re: Epoxy cloudy after the second coat
What brand of epoxy did you use and which resin and which hardener precisely? The humidity is fine? What percentage is fine?

Re: spraying water based polyurethane
I used this product on my last canoe: Varathane's Outdoor Diamond Wood Finish (water base) offers a crystal clear finish that lasts twice as long as oil-based exterior finishes. http://www.homedepot.ca/wcsstore/HomeDepotCanada/images/catalog/1000423117_4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/gl...

Thank you Randy, it has been a pleasure working with so many people from all walks of life and from so many different countries. I have always enjoyed helping others so I was just doing what came naturally. Of course I wouldn't have the necessary knowledge to offer assistance if I had never bought C...

Re: Scratches
If you have a soldering iron you can use that instead of a clothes iron so you will be able to concentrate the heat to just the scratches.
