Varnishing Seat Hangers

Post by DaveH_Wis »

Does anyone varnish (or seal with another method) the bolt hole in the seat hangers? It seems like moisture would get in if I don't, but I'm not sure how to go about it?

I used a pipe cleaner to get two coats down the holes. I have heard of cotton swabs being used as well. Good luck.

You can use a pipe cleaner to apply a few coats of either epoxy or varnish in the hanger holes.

In my experience, the cotton from Qtips comes off and makes a mess...pipe cleaners best.

I was going to make up a thinned solution of varnish and fill the hole and let it drain three or four times would this method not work?

I don't see why that method wouldn't work just as well.
