RR,
Just wanted to express my condolences about your loss of the boat. You seem to be taking it extremely well.

Did you use clamps or fishing line to hold your strips? How did it go for you?

On your glass/thickness issue, I think that some sanding to get a smooth transition line or filling in like Kent suggested would be the thing to do. I'm worried that if the glass doesn't lay down you are going to have a weak spot in the boat and it will probably show, as well....

Remember, you'll have this boat a long time, what's a few more hours now?

Thanks guys..Kent, Canoebuilder, I did just that. Glued a strip on top of the depression yesterday and sanded it off flush today. It'll pass I reckon. Sanded the others til they were flush and fair. Got lucky nd didn't go thru any spots. I do have some places now that don't have a precoat, but I guess I'll take extra care there during the glassing.

Tape off the already sealed areas and seal the added and sanded areas.
