Well its been a long road for me at least but my Preospector Ranger is ready to be splashed.

Jacqui my wife and I will put in on Monday morning and see how she floats.

I have changed the Avatar that shows a picture outside our house.

Very nice job Ed. I have the forms set for my Ranger and the materials collected.

What type of wood did you use for the seat frames?

Hi all :wink

Well thoday was launch day and what a craft, she performed great Jacqui & I launched at 0730 and paddled up whats known as Armand Bayou just south of Houston TX. A buddy of mine followe us on his plastic sit on Kayak and asked us to slow down he could not keep up. The water was still with little wind the GPS showed 3knts with just me paddlong not even hard.

In answer to some of the questions I used WRC for the hull, the inner stems are Poplar, the outer stems Cherry as are the seat frames Cherry the thwart is a strip of white Oak with Cherry either side, Decks are Birds eye Maple with an inlay of Purple heart and Blood wood, the in and out whales are Mahogony.

I used 1/4" stainless bolts to attach the seats and thwart to the inwhale with Cherry spacers.

Once again thanks to all who assisted me in building this boat, she was a head turner down at the Bayou this morning makes you feel like your dating the best looking girl in school again, Ok for the first time.

Thanks again.
