Pictures 0f My building project

Post by Plug Nickel »

I now have photos posted for your approval. I will have more soon. My Bob's Special is about done hope to get it on the water this coming weekend.
The project was good as far as the woodworking goes but I caused myself a lot of extra work with the fiberglass. Apparently my squeegeeing needs some improvement. After the first sanding of 3 coats I found that the hull was wavy. These was a vertical pattern apparenty left when I squeegeed. When I did the inside I had better results. I did give the outside a 4th coat of epoxy and wet sanded with a drywall sander and wet & dry paper. It looks reasonably good. The drywall sander acted like a fairing board so it evened things up pretty well.

Great looking canoe....Thanks for sharing. :applause

I liked the tip about the drywall sanding pad. I'm currently using homebrew device that uses a sanding belt cut into.
