Rice Lake Skiff

I am thinking about building this skiff from the plans available here. I want it to be as light as possible and be able to handle my 4 hp yamaha OB. Does anyone on the forum have any experience with this boat ? What pitfalls await if any? I built a Ranger last year but my wife says it's not stable enough for her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
