Talking paddels

My question, has anyone used Titebond III for glueing wood for paddles ? What are you feelings about TB III ?

Made 2 more canoe paddles for WW, may seem odd shaped, but I got the idea of a short wide blade after seeing a Gillespie Paddle.

Eric, while I've not made paddles using Titebond III, I wouldn't hesitate doing so. A recent study of PVA versus polyurethane glues showed PVA to be superior in strength even slightly stronger than slow set epoxy.

The 10 min open time makes it nice for lamination and it's waterproof. I would be aware of its color for your application, however.

Titebond III is overkill for a paddle unless you plan on storing the paddle in the water. A few years ago I saw a paddle making demonstration by Brad Gillespie and I am fairly certain he used Titebond II. The only reason for using Titebond III would be to enhance the glue lines with a darker color.

Your paddles look good.
