size of cockpit cover for endeavour
I used the standard plans for the endeavor. Can anyone tell me what size of cockpit cover should I buy?

I would suggest if you can to take your boat with you to a supplier and try them out. A cockpit cover for travel is also a good investment.

I can't get to a supplier. I live in Northern BC, about 800 miles as the crow fly's from Vancouver. Thanks anyways

If you phone Noah's Marine and tell them which kayak you have, they can supply you with a nylon sprayskirt to fit: http://noahsmarine.com/html/canada.html
If that doesn't work, let me know and I will help you find what you need.

Lisa, you might want to ask your question in the Gear section at http://www.westcoastpaddler.com/community/ as there are a couple of regular posters there who paddle Endeavours.
Personally, I wouldn't go with a nylon skiirt -- the neoprene variety are much better. Is it a spray skirt or a cockpit cover that you require? (they're two different things).

endeavour cockpit cover
Hi, yeah I'm looking to size a cockpit cover. It's for storage and transporting.

Northwater cockpit covers are at the bottom of this page:
http://www.northwater.com/html/sk_accessories.html
Click on the Fit List link.
The Endeavour is not specifically listed but you can get the cover dimensions of your boat and see what will fit closest to that on the list (measure your cockpt from the outside of the coaming at the widest points front to back and side to side).
If your cockpit is anywhere near 18" x 32.5" I would recommend one of the Delta Kayaks cockpit covers -- they've got a really grippy rubber on the edge that makes them really secure and the fabric is quite durable.
Northwater and Delta cockpit covers are available at Western Canoeing & Kayaking in Abbotsford -- great people to deal with and they'll happily ship one to you.

To ensure that you don't lose the cover should it blow off, it's a good idea to pass the front loop under your deck bungees and pull the cover back through the loop (you'll know exactly what I mean when you have the cover in hand).
Hope this helps.

Been there ... done that ... these days my cover is secured even for short local trips.WestCoastPaddler wrote:To ensure that you don't lose the cover should it blow off, it's a good idea to pass the front loop under your deck bungees and pull the cover back through the loop
Lisa, my Endeavour cockpit is not the standard dimension, but its close ... outside dimensions are 18.5" x 32.5" (16.5" x 30" I.D.) ... I use MEC's house-brand nylon cover, size medium, and it works fine at highway speeds ... had it a few years, so I don't know if its still available.
