UV protection for graphite bottom

I have an epoxy/graphite/silica powder bottom on the canoe I just finished. All I did to it was sand it to a satin appearance, it was not varnished. I've read that UV can damage epoxy, that is primarily what the varnish is for. Should I apply some sort of protection to the graphite bottom?

No, do not varnish the graphite bottom. The graphite provides U.V. protection. Varnish would grab on rocks whereas the bare graphite surface slides over most rocks and other obstacles.
