Varnish without amber tint?

Post by MrKim »

I've used InterLux's Schooner varnish in the past. My next build I want to use a blue stain. Therefore I would like a varnish without an amber tint. Any tips on a good clear varnish?

Thanks

Interlux Goldspar Clear is said to be colorless... it has the word "Clear" on the label. There is also Goldpar varnish without "clear" marked on the label... I haven't used either so can't say whether there is a difference in color between the two.

I no longer worry about it, but a few years ago I looked around pretty extensively for a non-yellow varnish and wound up with system three wr-lpu clear gloss.

It is as colorless as anything, very durable and UV protecting, and not cheap. It's only been a bit over 6 years now, but there is no trace of yellowing yet.
