The Bob's Special

Post by John Brice »

I'm almost done with the Bob Special. A few coats of varnish on the exterior and that should do it. I have picked up some real valuable ideas and resources from this forum and I do appreciate it. Thanks you very much.

I like the way that you alternated the strips. It is an excellent looking canoe that will give years of service.

My first canoe ... and Glen Smith can attest... is about as far from your work of art as possible. But it floats and is my first choice for river work...

You may find (as several of us have) that one canoe is just not enough...

Thanks guys! Karl - actually I didn't alternate the strips intentionally that's just the way the white cedar came - sometimes the color is dark on one end and light on the other. Trying to sort it out by color would have driven me crazy.
