Forms Cut

Post by Bryan Hansel »

I've been a little slower than I hoped on this canoe build. I just got the forms cut today, about 3/4 of the cedar is milled, I need to decide on the types of stems that I want to use and then cut them.

I'm trying to come up with a name for the canoe. I'm leaning towards the Temperance.

Here's a picture of the forms:

Hi Bryan,

Looking good. I really like your design and am looking forward to seeing your build progress. Have you decided on wood choice for all you trim?

Moonman.

Not yet. I did decide to use a modified Gilpatrick method for the stems. It combines the lightweight of a Gilpatrick stem with the ease of making of Moore's method. I take pictures and document the process.
