Canoe no 3 ripping planking

Post by alick burt »

Hi Folks
Today I managed to squeeze an hour out of my schedule to rip some of my planking.I made a support for the outfeed table of my saw that made life easier than my roller stands and works far better with the thin sections involved.
It consisted of three pieces of 18mm mdf.The first two were screwed together to form a tee section. The end of the top one was rebated about 5mm to fit under the metal of the saw and the third piece was fixed to the sedge of the top of the tee to avoid the ripped strip wandering sideways and twisting off the table.I then put the tee into a workmate at the right height behind the saw and set to work ripping.
cheers
Alick
