Sanding inside bow and stern

Post by Danzant »

Any tips on getting/sanding inside of bow and stern smooth? Does the deck hide this area at all?

I fashion sanding blocks for difficult areas from closed cell foam. I use self stick 3M Gold sandpaper on my blocks. The paper lasts and cuts material fast (bit spendy but worth it). If you don't have the self stick paper, then make your own with spray on adhesive. Use your scrapers before you pick up the sandpaper.

Will the decks hide the area? That depends. The decks will hide a bit up near the sheer line but the rest will be exposed and will be very noticeable. It is a pain to work in the close quarters of the bow and stern, your options are few, the work is slow and mostly done best by hand
