What are the opinions on cutting scuppers into scarf joints?
My scarf tapers were cut at an angle of 1:8 and I did not want to weaken this joint by removing ¼” of material with a scupper cut.

A glued joint is supposed to be stronger than the surronding wood so it shouldn't be problematic.
