How to package for shipment a 16 ft. Canoe

Post by pwstndrf »

Gentlemen.
I previously built a 16 ft. Peterborough from Ted's Canoecraft and was an active participant in this forum. I gleaned a lot of helpful information from the good folks here and was enlightened to hear and see the fine work the participants produced.
I have a new problem! I have an offer to sell the canoe and it requires me to ship it from Michigan to the buyer in Arizona. I there anyone out there who has done this previously. I think a lightweight crate shipped via common carrier might be most economical.
Any suggestions...... :thinking

Souris River Canoes are probably the best craters I've seen. The picture in the above link shows enough to get you there.
