UV Inhibited Epoxy

Post by Jim Dodd »

As Spring is springing, I ordered epoxy for my next builds.
The Salesman at RAKA talked me into trying their UV Inhibited Epoxy with Slow cure hardener.
My next move was to test it against my current favorite, RAKAs 127 resin and 350 Nonblush hardener.
Here's a few pics.Image Image Image
There was a color difference in the mixed cups, but as you can see, once applied to cloth, you can't tell the difference ( the E-glass tape is on the top, on the bottom is the UV epoxy).
The UV inhibited epoxy seemed to wet out my test samples a little better, and they both, in my testing had very similar pot life.

I'm anxious to get this UV resin on a hull ! Now I'm just waiting for warmer temps !
Thanks guys ! I hope this is of some interest to you !

Sorry for my camera quality ! They are hard to see.The two strips of E-glass are above the carbon fiber.
The top is wetted out with 350 Non-blush and 127 resin, and the bottom is the UV.
I could tell no difference in color.
