Indeed the face grain strips took some extra care and handling, but it has worked out so far. I have edge grain strips ready for the second one. Planning to take this one off the stations this weekend.

I do like that look, even if it is a bit more difficult to deal with the flat sawn strips, and you can't always tell what it's going to look like until the boards are cut. The last rowboat I did had great figure, I think the board had a lot of run-out, maybe was from the butt of the log. It looked like flames.
