Beings you haven't filled the weave yet, I'd scrape, and feather the edge about an inch beyond, and lay a patch in. When you've finished filling the weave, It will nearly disappear.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the advice. I appreciate it.
I have to do 'other' stuff, like paint the kitchen, before
I can get at it. I'll let you know how it turns out.
