Endeavour 17 in Algonquin Park

Post by BellGuy5 »

I started this build in September 2014 and finished this July 2015. I took both my Prospector 16 and my Endeavour 17 into Algonquin with my two boys for four days. More build pics to follow.

Here are some pictures that I took while building my Endeavour 17. The strips were originally milled 30 years ago. I bought them from a guy who never got around to building anything and decided they were taking up too much space. This build was started in September 2014 and finished in early August this year. Building a kayak is quite different than a canoe in that there is much more time spent on the small stuff. The hatches and cockpit coaming took a long time due to layering of the wood and dry time but the end result was really nice. Also, twice the amount of fiberglassing as a canoe. My kayak doesn't have a rudder but it tracks nice and straight and is easy to paddle because of the weight.
