I'd appreciate some insights on shaping the outer stem on the redbird. Any reason to not epoxy it in place and then shape it to match the hull rather than attempt to shape it before installing it? I was thinking that if we epoxied it in place first, we wouldn't have to fool with clamping in a vise, etc. Just want to make sure we aren't missing anything.
thanks!

Outer stem shaping
Hi Randy, if you made a tapered mortice for the inboard end of the outer stem, you will have to shape that portion for it to fit in the mortice. The rest of it can be shaped after it is epoxied to the boat. If there is no taper, you can do all of the shaping after epoxying.
