Greenland paddle making in bulk with router and jig

This blog series on GP-making received a lot of readers over at duckworks, so I figured I'd post it here.

It's a six-part series showing a New England paddler using a hand-crafted jig and router to carve a Greenland paddle.

She made the jig with wooden dowels and hand-made curved gliding skids, and was able to bang out a Greenland paddle with it in about 2 hours.

Trickiest part is forming the graduated curves (the gliding skids) from shaft shoulder to blade to tip - and the the most time consuming.

But once the jig is made there it is, ready to form as many paddles as you might want.
