Canoe Storage

Post by cagreen » Wed Oct 24, 2007 7:56 am

Hi everyone,
I'm almost finished my boat! It's time to start thinking about where I'm going to store her. I'd like to hang it from the ceiling in my garage. My question is this: Will I run the risk of deforming the shape of the canoe if I hang it using slings (either right side up or upside down), or is it better to rest the gunnels on a couple of cross pieces and suspend those cross pieces?

Using slings should be just fine. I would hang it upside down to keep the interior clean and to prevent water accumulation in case of roof leakage or even condensation.
