Minnesota Canoe Association Guide Model

Post by BuffaloDick »

Has anyone out there built a Guide Model canoe from plans supplied by the Minnesota canoe Association? I previouslybuilt one about fifteen years ago, but no longer own it. It was a nice handling canoe and was easy to paddle and control. I was thinking that this design might serve well as a solo canoe as well as a tandem. Are there any thoughts on this?
Thanks!

P.S. I recently completed a "38 SPECIAL" which is a 16 foot solo canoe. This is a good design, but It's initial stability is somewhat lower than I care to have in a solo canoe that I would also like to use as a fishing platform. I also have the plans for the Mattawa which I am also considering.
