Fishing and tripping design

Can anyone give me some reccomendations on a canoe design?

I am looking for a stable boat that we can fish out of, take short 2-3 day river trips in and paddle solo. I am pretty new to this whole canoe thing and would like something that is easy to build. I have some woodworking experience and am looking forward to building my first canoe.

I looked at the Bob's Special design but am not sure of it is big enough. Any reccomendations would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Good on rivers, good on lakes, good for tripping, good for solo, good for fishing, and I can walk the gunwales. Is that stable?
