Which canoe is on the cover of the book?

Post by WLG 3 »

Does anyone know which canoe is on the cover of Canoecraft? (Revised and expanded)
Obviously the one in the water is an older boat, the one on the deck is a newer "strip" boat.
Prospector?

Thanks in advance for any info

I don't have my copy of the book here but I think it is the Redbird. The Redbird is the example boat used throughout the book.

My book was loaned out and is taking a long route home. The strip boat is a Redbird as I recall and ribbed is an old William English design. Maybe the English Model 20 for which there were plans in the first few editions of the book, but later dropped.

I may be way off. Somebody on this forum has to have the book!

I have the book, but none of the photo credits tells which one it is.
I don't have enough (any) experience to just look at it and tell which one it is!
